Character Playlist: Harry Potter

"Everyone thinks I'm special...All those people in the Leaky Cauldron, Professor Quirrell, Mr. Ollivander...But I don't know anything about magic."

Anyone who knows me knows that the Harry Potter series is, and continues to be, one of the biggest influences on my life. Though, if you ask any Harry Potter fan, they don't often list Harry Potter as their favorite character; he quite often gets the short end of the stick, for being the protagonist of the entire series. So, here is my homage to the Boy Who Lived, Harry Potter himself!

"Summertime Blues" by Eddie Cochran
Dumbledore forces Harry to return to the Dursleys' every summer, meaning that he often looked forward to the school year more than he looked forward to summer.

"Where We Belong" by Thriving Ivory
Fitting for the final battle at Hogwarts, as it is the only place Harry has ever truly felt at home.

Given the circumstances around Harry's birth, and the way Dumbledore prepares him for war, I'd say this song fits Harry pretty well.

There are definitely points where the tasks left to Harry make him pretty miserable, and angsty.
Order of the Phoenix, anyone?

Despite the constant trials and tribulations Harry is put through, he never gives up on the one task he believes he needs to complete.

"Bend and Break" by Keane
These two lines sum up the connection here nicely: "If only I don't bend and break / I'll meet you on the other side."

Harry's been forced through a lot in his life, all in the name of defeating Voldemort.

Harry had to witness the death of many friends on his journey, ones that he carries with him forever.

"The Reckless and the Brave" by All Time Low
You know, the most fitting title for a daring Gryffindor.

"Victorious" by Panic! At the Disco
I mean, Harry's technically victorious in the end, right? And lots and lots of times during quidditch.

Glancing through other Harry Potter playlists for inspiration, I couldn't help but notice that many of them were not for Harry himself. Are there any songs that should be included that I missed? Mention them in the comments!
